SUPPORT A CHILD TODAY!

Organization Summary

The CEFAC Foundation is an American-based non-profit organization founded by Chudney Tetteh and Jennifer Armah; two friends concerned about the welfare of children in Ghana. Both partners grew up in Ghana, where poverty and poor health conditions are major factors that contribute to the country’s high morbidity and mortality rates. Chudney and Jennifer relocated to the United States to further their education.

Chudney Tetteh is a social service advocate with a passion for helping the needy. Her favorite memories of her childhood are that of camping trips spent with her fellow Girl Guides. This was an association that taught life skills and encouraged camaraderie. She continues to live by The Guide’s Promise: duty to God, duty to your country and duty to keeping the guide law. Growing up, she vowed to teach others the strong values she adopted from her time as a Girls Guide especially the importance of preparedness and being kind to others. The “Be Prepared” Motto of the Guides has instilled a sense of responsibility and eagerness to learn in her. These qualities together with her educational background have helped her to thrive in her collegiate and professional career. Chudney graduated from the Robert H. Smith School of Business with a Bachelor’s in Accounting; she immediately joined the Federal National Mortgage Association upon graduating and has held several positions at the corporation. With an accounting background and a Master’s in Information Systems, she is highly skilled in comprehensive analysis, strategic planning and organization, logical decision making, problem resolution, maintaining stakeholder relationships and project management.

Jennifer Armah is passionate about addressing the root causes of global health problems in order to develop sustainable, culturally competent solutions. As a child, Jennifer had always been fascinated by the world of medicine, including the vast ‘miraculous’ scientific innovations. However, her exposure to the public health field helped her realize that the real magic of health care lies within its preventive aspects through education, awareness, screenings, and vaccinations. More lives could be saved through these ventures than by the scalpel of a surgeon. For her undergraduate studies, she majored in Public and Community Health with a minor in Conflict Management and International Development. She has a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Global Health Program Design, Monitoring and Evaluation from the George Washington University. Currently the National Director of Programs of the Hepatitis Foundation International, Jennifer coordinates and implements programs, as well as assists in fundraising. She is extensively involved in community outreach and stakeholder engagement to raise awareness about viral hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, and other liver-related diseases. She is a Certified Public Health (CPH) professional and has a Project Management certificate. Jennifer has over five years’ experience in advocacy, program planning, developing budgets, fundraising, evaluations, and community outreach.

The office of the organization is currently located in Rockville, Maryland with a governing Board of Directors. Chudney and Jennifer currently act as the sole administrators
